🛡️ What is Provii?

Provii is an app that helps you prove you’re old enough to use certain websites. The cool part? You don’t have to give away any personal information!

No names. No photos. Nothing about you stays with us!

🔒 Does Provii See My Birthday?

Only once, and then we throw it away!

Here’s how it works:

You type your birthday into the Provii app on your phone
Your birthday is sent to us once when you first set up the app so we can do the special maths to create your proof
We throw it away straight after and never keep it
After that, your birthday stays safely on your phone and is never sent again
When a website asks if you’re old enough, your phone makes a special proof
The proof just says “Yes!” or “No!” - that’s it!

After setup, we can’t see your birthday.

🔍 What Information Does Provii Collect?

Almost nothing!

We only keep:

Your internet address (called an IP address) - We scramble it up and delete it after 90 days; critical security event logs are retained for up to 365 days
When you used Provii - Just the time, not who you are
Random numbers - These help the app work, but they’re not connected to you

What we DON’T collect:

Your name
Your birthday
Your email
Your phone number
Your home address
Your photos
Your school
Where you go online
What you search for
Anything else about you!

🔄 Why is Provii Different?

Other age checkers ask for:

Your name
Your birthday
A photo of your ID
Sometimes a selfie

Then they keep all that information in a big computer. If bad guys hack that computer, they can steal everyone’s information!

Provii is different:

We use special math instead of keeping your information
Your birthday is sent once when you set up, but we throw it away straight after
After that, your birthday stays on your phone and is never sent again
We can’t lose what we don’t keep
Even if bad guys attack us, there is very little about you that could be at risk

Math keeps you safe!

🔐 Is Provii Safe?

Yes! We work very hard to keep it safe.

We use really strong security to help protect everything:

Everything is scrambled (encrypted) so hackers can’t read it
The special math we use is super strong
Experts can check our work to make sure it’s safe

⭐ Your Rights

You have special rights:

See what we have. You can ask what information we have about you (spoiler: almost nothing!)
Delete it. You can ask us to delete information (we delete most stuff after 90 days anyway)
Ask questions. If you don’t understand something, you can ask us
