This privacy policy covers the maelstrom.au website, operated by Maelstrom AI Pty Ltd ATF Maelstrom AI Holding Trust (ABN 61 633 823 792). It does not cover our products or services, which have their own privacy policies.

What this website collects

Very little.

Hosting and infrastructure

This website is served via Cloudflare's content delivery network using Cloudflare Workers. As part of standard web serving, Cloudflare processes connection metadata including IP addresses and request headers. This processing is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy (opens in new tab).

Our Cloudflare account shows traffic analytics for this website. For a request that Cloudflare's security features challenge or block, it also shows the request details, including the IP address. Workers Logs are turned on for this website, and keep any record they hold for seven days. We use this request data only to run and protect the website. We do not use it to identify visitors, and we do not join it to other data.

Email contact

If you contact us via email, we will hold your email address and message content for the purpose of responding to your enquiry. We do not add contacts to mailing lists, share contact information with third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond responding to your message. For privacy matters specifically, write to support@maelstrom.au.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade any data collected through this website. We do not use advertising networks. We do not engage in data brokering.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, the controller for this website and for our products' commercial records is Maelstrom AI Pty Ltd (ACN 679 356 702), as trustee for Maelstrom AI Holding Trust, an Australian company. We have not yet appointed an EU or UK representative; if we appoint one we will name them here. Privacy requests about Maelstrom or this website go to support@maelstrom.au. Privacy requests about downpipes go to support@downpipes.io, as the downpipes privacy policy says. We handle a privacy request sent to either address from the moment it arrives.

This website leads to two kinds of personal data: the request data that Cloudflare processes, and the email correspondence you choose to send us. We process request data under our legitimate interests in running and protecting the website (Article 6(1)(f)). We process your correspondence under our legitimate interests in answering you (Article 6(1)(f)), or under Article 6(1)(b) where your enquiry leads towards a contract. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, free of charge, answered within one month; and you may complain to the supervisory authority in your member state or to the UK Information Commissioner's Office, as well as to the OAIC. Australia does not hold an EU adequacy decision; the correspondence you send us is collected by us directly, and our email is hosted with Proton in Switzerland, which does hold one.
